Shipping and Returns

Preferred Carrier

UPS is the preferred carrier for Villa Creek Cellars. Ground shipping is offered at current market rates. In accordance with federal law, all wine shipments must be signed for by an adult 21 years of age or older. We strongly recommend providing a daytime delivery address—preferably a business address—to ensure successful delivery.
Please note: If you choose a different carrier or opt for air service, you will be responsible for all associated shipping costs, regardless of membership status or purchase amount.

Wine is a Perishable Product

Wine is sensitive to temperature extremes. To preserve the integrity of your shipment, we may implement weather holds at our discretion throughout the year. If you choose to ship outside of our standard weather-safe windows, Villa Creek Cellars cannot be held responsible for wine damaged in transit due to temperature exposure and is unable to offer replacements. Ownership of the wine transfers to the purchaser once the order is picked up by the carrier. Quality is guaranteed only on the first delivery attempt.

Notifications & Delivery Responsibility

You (the customer), will receive multiple email notifications when your order is being prepared for shipment, allowing time to make adjustments if needed. Once a shipment leaves our facility, the purchaser is responsible for all aspects of delivery, including rerouting, acceptance, and missed deliveries. If a package is returned to us, the wines will be restocked and may not be available for reallocation. All reshipping costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.

Allocation and Release Details

Villa Creek member allocations include some of our most sought-after wines. You’ll receive a detailed email notification at the start of each allocation period, which remains open for two weeks. During this time, you may customize your shipment based on the current release.

Villa Creek Allocation Schedule
Spring Allocation: Opens in January/February | Ships in March
Fall Allocation: Opens in August/September | Ships in November

MAHA Allocation Schedule
Opens in October | Ships in November

Order Pickups

Your wine will be safely stored in our warehouse from the time of order through the designated pickup deadline, which will be clearly noted in all email communications during each release. You’ll receive an email notification once your wines are ready for pickup.

As we are open by appointment only, please book a tasting reservation HERE to collect your wines.
If you prefer to pick up without tasting, simply email us in advance to schedule a pickup date and time. Without prior notice, we cannot guarantee that someone will be available on-site to assist you.

To ensure we have sufficient inventory on-hand, we kindly ask that you book your visit at least one week in advance. If you arrive without advance notice, there may not be enough inventory on site to fulfill your order.

If you’re unable to visit during the designated pickup window, we’re happy to arrange shipping instead. Similarly, if you have a confirmed appointment just outside the pickup timeframe, we’re glad to hold your wines a little longer—just let us know.

Late Pickups

As a small-production winery with limited storage capacity, we are unable to hold purchased wines beyond the designated pickup window. Multiple reminder emails and text messages will be sent. If we do not receive communication from you by the pickup deadline stated in your allocation email, your wines will be returned to inventory. A gift card in the amount of your purchase will be issued to your account and may be used online or in the tasting room.

Please Note:
Members with repeated missed pickups will be automatically transitioned from “pickup” to “ship” status. Any outstanding pickup orders will be shipped with your next club release and any gift cards associated with outstanding pickups will be removed from the account. Any shipping charges will be charged accordingly.

Shipments to Canada and Puerto Rico go out on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays (holidays excluded).

How much wine can I ship internationally?

Each country has unique import limits. Most countries allow a set quantity per shipment, while others have stricter regulations. Please contact us with your destination country, and we’ll gladly confirm the allowable limits on your behalf.

In most cases, yes—Wine Direct can ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) to many countries except Canada. They can provide an estimate that includes shipping fees and duties/taxes.

Shipping to Canada

Please note: Shipping to Canada can be expensive, in some cases up to 200% of the wine’s value. We provide these estimates upfront to help you make an informed decision before proceeding.
