2011 Aglianico MAGNUM

This is our second bottling of this obscure grape that is gaining traction here in California. Not for the faint of heart, Aglianico offers layers of fruit, spice, tannin and intrigue. Ripe dark cherries, soft worn leather, tree bark, and camphor are complicated in this vibrant garnet elixir. On the palate, baked berry pie, cinnamon, and cedar are framed by white pepper and firm yet engaging tannins. This one is just a babe. Decant for several hours and watch the genie emerge.
